One drop in each eye a minutes later you can watch how your vision quickly deteriorates. Pupil widener, it was. When half an hour later I stepped out into the street again, it was with very squinty eyes (and still blinded by the light) and unable to read my own watch unless I held it two metres from my face. The rascals!

It was walking in the middle of the street, around noon. Very unsteady on its legs and with a swarm of dung flies around its head. No wonder, there was an ugly wound right on the top of its head.
So we got a plastic crate from the car and, with the help of some kitchen-paper armour, lifted the patient into the crate (it could still curl up, but not with any enthusiasm) and covered him with a couple of sheets of kitchen paper, mainly against the flies. And then called the animal ambulance.
And so, half an hour later, the poor dear was transferred to a kind of tupperware stretcher with a lid to be spirited away to the hedgehog clinic. Phew, maybe a happy end after all. And another good deed to add to our karma.

Dear fellow IT professional,
a word of advice from fellow sufferer: keep away, a long way away from Siebel. I'd almost become religious, just to be able to say with conviction that it's a tool of the Devil. A deeply regrettable piece of junk.
And you, CIO, you who have just allowed yourself to be tempted, in exchange for a round of champagne, to acquire a Siebel license, vade retro! No matter how much you hate your underlings, they do not deserve this.
(Phew, just something I had to get off my chest.)
